Have you let go of your sinful desires? We have been set free through Jesus, but that doesn't mean we are free to live however we want.
You can not live and act like the world then ask for forgiveness and do it all over again.
This scripture tells us if we belong to Jesus, we have to let go of our sinful nature. We need to take our sinful nature and put it to death with the old life we lived before Jesus.
We are a new creation in Christ. That means our thoughts, desires, and actions should change for the better.
Don't get wrapped up in the lie that you will never change. Or the lie that you can do whatever you want and God will keep forgiving you. Repentance is the act of asking for forgiveness then changing your ways.
You are not meant to stay the same. You are meant to be made new when you give your life to Christ.
Prayer:
Lord we thank you that you have made us a new creation. We thank you for your mercy and grace.
Help us to give up our sinful ways to follow you. We ask that you would break the chains of our past. We know we need your strength to truly be transformed, so we ask that you would walk along side us as we take up our cross and follow you.
Help us to remain strong and disciplined as we live our life for you, in Jesus name we pray Amen.
