It is so important that we lean on wisdom to protect us from the words of the wicked. When I say wisdom I don't mean your own. I mean the wisdom that comes from the Holy Spirit, reading the word of God, and fearing the Lord.
Knowledge of what God says is the only way you can discern what the enemy wants to feed you and confuse you with, from the truth, that God has given you.
There is only one truth. One of the enemies favorite things to do is tell us things that seem like they could be true but aren't. There may come a time in your life where you encounter false teachers, that will lead you astray. If you do not know the word you can follow them on a path that leads you both directly to hell.
We need to be full of the word and Godly wisdom, so that God can use it to protect us. The path to heaven is narrow and with a lack of knowledge it is easy to go astray.
Prayer:
Lord we pray that you would guard our hearts and our minds. Give us a hunger to know you and your word, that can not be satisfied by any other distraction or substance that would try to sustain us. Fill us with wisdom and knowledge of your word so that we can be safe from our enemies.
Help us to not only know your word but to know you. We want to walk in a close relationship with you. We love you Lord, in Jesus name we pray Amen.
