These words are straight from Jesus. "I am the good shepherd." The word shepherd means someone (Jesus) who tends, guides, directs, protects, and feeds their sheep (us).
He also said "The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep", so He's telling you He has and would Sacrifice his life for you.
I feel like sometimes we all take for granted the fact that Jesus gave his life for us. He is still giving his life to us everyday through shepherding us daily.
When we fall he picks us back up and he keeps us on the right yet narrow path and anytime we stray away he doesn't hesitate to direct and correct us to keep us where we should be. So we should be giving our life to him everyday, we can never be as good as he has been to us even on a good day but we can still lay everything down at His feet and ask Him to use it for His good.
Prayer:
Lord help us to surrender ourself to you everyday. Use us for your good Lord by ourselves we could never do good like you do and we could never turn things around like you do.
So I ask you to be with us through every step of the way and shepherd us on Your path, Lord. We know that with you Lord we will never be alone. In Jesus mighty name we pray, Amen!
