Daily Devotion 9-16-23

We need to be imitators of God. What does it mean to imitate God? It means we need to replicate his behaviors. It means we need to stop and think, well, how does God treat people and how can I treat people more like God does? Would God say what I just said? Do people see God in me, do they feel his love through me? There will always be ways we can do better. As long as we are making an effort and striving to show God's love, we are headed in the right direction. If we want to bring others to God we need show them his love.

Prayer:

Lord, we thank you for your goodness. Help us to treat others in a way that would point them to you. We want to be a light for you but we don't want to be a flicker, we want to shine bright. Fill us with your love, and compassion. Give us a heart for treating people the way you treat people. Help us to be more like you, in Jesus name we pray Amen.

Verse:

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

Ephesians 5:1‭-‬2 ESV
