Daily Devotion 9-1-23

It can be very easy to fall into the traps of fear. Whether it is circumstances, the future, people, whatever it is you fear if you aren't careful that fear will begin to grow. It can slowly spread to other things and eventually take over. If we give fear power over our lives it can easily consume us and start to affect our behavior. We cannot honor and trust the Lord fully unless we surrender our fears to him and let him take control. Throughout the bible we are told not to fear over and over again. As many times as God reassures us not to fear, you would think it would be easy, but it is not, that is probably why he told us so many times. That is why it is important to surrender every fear to God as they come up. We have to continually chose to let God handle our fears. Fear is not always something we give to God once and then it never comes up again. As life goes on things will come up, but what matters is how we handle it. Do we dwell on the fear and let it take over? Or do we give it to God and trust that he has got it handled?
Prayer:
Lord we are coming to you today asking you to take our fears and anxieties away Lord. We lay them in your hands and ask that you take control. Help us to trust you no matter the circumstances. We thank you for all you do for us and your many blessings, in Jesus name we pray Amen.
Verse:
The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.
Proverbs 29:25 ESV
