The Gift of Peace
In this verse Jesus tells us that he leaves us with a gift of peace. He gave us peace which means we never have to search for it because we always have it. We never lose our peace we just forget to accept it sometimes. Worries about our life can build up and become overwhelming and we wish we could find peace but the peace that Jesus gave us is always with us we just have to choose to let go of our worries and hold onto that peace instead. If we tried to search for peace in the things of this world we would find that maybe we feel better for a moment but we are soon worrying again. The peace Jesus gave us is not like the peace this world has to offer His peace is everlasting, it surpasses all understanding but we have to give our worries to God and accept this peace.
Prayer:
Thank you for the peace you have freely given us. Thank you for giving us lasting peace that doesn’t waver in the midst of troubles. Please help us to give all of our worries to you and to accept your peace. Thank you for always providing for us and keeping us safe. Please guide us on the path you have for us and help us to keep all of our faith in you. Thank you for the mercy and grace you give us each day. Please help us to do your will and to show your love to others, in Jesus name we pray, Amen.
