Daily Devotion 8-12-23

We need to put all our faith in God. It's very important that we watch what we are putting our faith in. If we are not careful, we can think all of our faith is in God when really we put our faith in what people tell us about God. Rather than a genuine faith that comes from knowledge and relationships. We can not put our faith in what people tell us about God. People are imperfect and make mistakes, their words and wisdom is not enough for us. We need a deep-rooted faith in God and we will get that when we pour ourselves into a relationship with him and seek knowledge from him, the source.

Prayer:

Lord we thank you for your many blessings. Help us to keep our eyes, hearts, and minds focused on you. You are our source. Help us to have a faith that is deeply rooted in you. Give us a desire to read your word and to draw closer to you. We want to feel your presence with us wherever we go. Help our faith to grow so that it is strong and unwavering in every circumstance Lord, in Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Verse:

For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

1 Corinthians 2:2‭-‬5 ESV
