Love Your Enemies
In this verse Jesus tells us to love our enemies and to be kind to them. We should practice reading this verse often as it gives us an important reminder: be kind even when others aren’t kind to you. This can be difficult at times but the more we pray for kindness and patience and keep this verse on our minds the easier it will be. As we experience Gods kindness even when we don’t deserve it we can pass along that kindness to others. Jesus tells us in another scripture to treat others how we want to be treated, not to treat others according to how they treat us.
Prayer:
Thank you God for all the blessings you have given us. Thank you for the unconditional love and kindness you show us. Thank you for always providing for us and protecting us. Please help us to be patient and kind with others. Thank you for giving us the self discipline to not react based on other peoples actions but to always react with love. Please guide us on the path you have for us and help us to do your will. Thank you for bringing us peace and joy in our lives. Please help us to keep our focus on you and to grow closer to you, in Jesus name we pray, Amen.
Scripture:
“Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked.” Luke 6:35 NLT
