Patience is an amazing thing to have, but it also can be a very hard thing to have. Sometimes people can push our buttons just the right way at the right time and you just want to go off. I have done it too, but all that does is hurt everyone involved and causes us to sin. We can never let our emotions be in control of our behavior, when our emotions run wild , we run wild. We must practice self control. Patience not only comes from practice it comes from knowledge. When we know and understand God's heart, we will no longer want to behave like our old self. When Jesus washes us clean and makes us whole we have to change our actions and our thoughts to align with our new self. When we understand what is right and pleasing to God we will strive to do it, not to be overwhelmed by our feelings and sin.
Prayer:
Father God, we want to serve and honor you with all things in our life God. We want people to see you in us. Lord use us to shine your light onto other people. Give us the patience and the self control to think about our actions and words. Help us to always acknowledge that our words have power. Give us a spirit of patience, kindness, compassion, self-control, love, and a spirit that is willing to serve, in Jesus name we pray Amen.
Scripture:
When your heart overflows with understanding you’ll be very slow to get angry. But if you have a quick temper, your impatience will be quickly seen by all.
