Daily Devotion 12-30-23

Do you have a servant heart? While Jesus walked this earth he wasn't here to be served. In fact, we often hear about Jesus serving others, and ultimately being the sacrifice for our sins. Jesus was not here with selfish ambitions, he didn't care if he was comfortable, in fact he didn't even care if the people he was around liked him. Everything Jesus did was a product of his love for us. No matter how inconvenient or even painful it was for him.
So, if our Lord and Savior served people, then we should definitely be serving too. Often times we can get busy and overlook others, or maybe there is something we need to do but we just don't want to because it would inconvenience us from the things we want to do. Alot of times we can have selfish tendencies without even knowing it. No matter how big or small, we always need to act from love. When we serve others we are serving the Lord also. We need to remember this when we serve people or in positions that we might not want to. All that we do here on this Earth should be a representation of God's love. Serve with a grateful heart, and love others first.

Prayer:
Lord, we thank you for your goodness, we thank you that you love us enough to suffer for us. Help us to follow your example and live a surrendered life serving you and others. Remove any selfishness we have and replace it with joy. Joy in serving others and a willingness to be your hands and feet. We love you Lord, in Jesus name we pray Amen.

Verse:
For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Mark 10:45 ESV
