We need to capture our thoughts. Following God and living a righteous life requires self-control and discipline. But don't worry in times of weakness God will give us strength. Remember God has given us a spirit of power, love and self-discipline. God will help us and give us strength, but we have to make a choice, are we going to follow God or the world? When you decide to follow God, the enemy will constantly try to tempt you, distract you, and make you turn away from God. If we don't capture our mind and we let our thoughts run wild or we dwell on things that are not of God, we can be slowly led astray. Everything we do needs to honor God even our thoughts. If we fill our mind with God's word and dwell on things of him we will not allow the enemy to have any ground in our life. When you are focused on the Father it is easier to see the enemies attack and redirect your mind, so it does not affect you.
Prayer:
Lord we thank you for your goodness. We ask that you give us your strength. We know we can't do it in our own, but with you all things are possible. Help us to have self-control and be disciplined. Help us to fill our mind with you and your word. Give us strength to not allow our mind to run wild. Guard our hearts and our minds Lord. Help us to be devoted to you. We surrender our life to you Father, in Jesus name we pray Amen.
