Daily Devotion 12-24-23

This season is so busy. So many holiday tasks to check off the list, events, gifts, decorations, the list goes on and on. For many people Christmas is a time of never-ending to-dos. Often times we can forgot what the season is all about. We forget that it was never meant to be so busy. While an extravagant Christmas may be fun, we can't allow the festivities to overshadow the true Light. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Christmas is a time to celebrate Jesus, to celebrate our Father's goodness and just be in awe of the miracles and plans he has for us. The simple fact of Jesus birth is a miracle, let alone all the things God had planned through Jesus. Don't lose sight of the Lord and the true event we celebrate. We need to remember to take a moment to stop and just be still in his presence. A moment to thank him for his goodness. Don't get overwhelmed with all the things, instead stay focused on him.

Prayer:
Lord, we thank you for your goodness and love. We thank you for your many blessings. Help us to not get distracted in the festivities and to stay focused on the true reason for the season. We love you Lord and we just thank you that you loved us enough to come to the earth and save us from ourselves, in Jesus name we pray Amen.

Verse:
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭26:3‬ ‭ESV
