We have been born again. The old person we used to be is gone. We are a new creation in Christ. We don't have to carry the shame of our past. We have a new life now. A life that doesn't revolve around sin and shame but around Jesus. We are now a part of God's family and are his children. We don't have to live according to the things we did in the past, who we used to be holds no power over who we are now.
Because we are children of God we have an inheritance. A life in heaven with our Father. We will spend eternity with the one who created us and loves us more than we can even comprehend. Knowing we are love by God and will spend eternity with him should fill us with Joy, hope, and gratitude. It is important that we always live our life looking forward to God and his plan. So when life gets hard, we can remember we have a future inheritance, something to look forward to and to work towards.
Prayer:
Lord we thank you for your grace and mercy. Thank you that you loved us enough to make a way for us to get to heaven and live eternity with you. Help us to remember that we have been set free from the chains of sin. We no longer have to live in shame, guilt, and sin. We can do better because you have made us new. We ask that you continue to stretch us and mold us every day to be more like you. Help others to see your love through us, in Jesus name we pray Amen.
