We are called to love others. Jesus loves all people, so we need to love all people also. What does it mean to love someone? Love is not simply a word we say to someone it is an action. When we love someone it is more than just our words but how we treat them that let's them know we love them. If someone said they loved you but treated you terribly every time you were around them you wouldn't believe them. So why do we expect to say we love someone and not treat them like it? How we treat people, the things we do or say, shows that you love someone more than any words ever could. Empty words mean nothing but acts of love will be remembered and make an impact on that person. People need to feel your love not just hear about it. When we show others we love them we treat them with kindness. We do things with compassion because we care about them. We are considerate of their needs and feelings not just our own. We need to show others we love them with our actions. Let's think of some ways we can make our family or even strangers we just meet feel loved, and make it a habit to start doing it.
Prayer:
Lord we thank you for your goodness and love. Thank you that you give us an example of how to treat others with the way you treat us. Help us to show others your love, to be your hands and feet Lord. Remove any selfishness we may have and help us to treat others with kindness and compassion. Give us courage and boldness to share your love even when it is hard or to people we don't know, in Jesus name we pray Amen.
