Daily Devotion 10-9-23

The Lord is at the door knocking. Are you going to let him in? You may be thinking, well I already have God in my life. That may be true, but have you let him in every area of your life? He may be knocking at past wounds that need to be healed, desires that don't line up to his, he may simply be knocking at your door for your attention. When you open the door and invite God into your life you can't open it halfway. You have to let him in to every aspect of your life the comfortable and the uncomfortable parts. Sometimes, when God is knocking on your door, he is asking you to go deeper to trust him and open the door to new things and a deeper relationship with him. Whatever reason God is knocking at your door when you make the decision to open it, you need to prepare yourself to fully let him in and be ready to trust completely in his plan.
If you have never had God in your life but recently there has been something inside of you that has been interested to know more. God is asking you to invite him into your life. He is asking for you to have a relationship with him. Open the door and be ready for your life to change. A life with God is so much better than a life without him. Don't allow that flicker inside of you to burn out. Fan the flames and allow God to grow it.
Prayer:
Lord, we come to you asking for you to be with all of those who's door you are knocking on. Help us to have ears to hear your voice and to be willing and open the door to let you in. We pray for those who don't have you in their life. Give them a desire to know you that is so strong they can't say no. For those that have known you for a while, but you are asking them to go deeper. Give them strength and open their heart to more of you. Help us to fully surrender ourselves. No matter where we are in our walk, we ask that you stir up our heart to desire more of you to be in your presence. Help us to be sensitive to your voice and your spirit Lord, help us to recognize when and where you are moving. We surrender to you and your will, have your way Father, in Jesus name we pray Amen.
Verse:
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. Revelation‬ ‭3:20‬ ‭ESV‬‬
