Daily Devotion 10-17-23

We need to be a living sacrifice to God. But what does that mean? When we sacrifice something, we are giving up, or surrendering, something of our own for the sake of something or someone else. Take Jesus for example he sacrificed himself for our sins. He died a brutal death he didn't deserve for you and me. In order to be a living, sacrifice we have to lay down ourselves and let God take control. We are offering every part of ourselves to the Lord and asking that his will be done. We have to release our own wants, desires, plans, time, our whole life. Being a living sacrifice is not always easy, but God will give us strength in times of hardship.

We should sacrifice ourselves to the Lord because of who he is and all that he has done. We need to sacrifice ourselves and present all that we have to the Lord, no holding back. When you give yourself to God you are in good and more than able hands.

Prayer:

Lord, we praise you and honor you for all that you are. You are so good and so faithful. We surrender ourselves as a living sacrifice to you. Give us strength to remain surrendered no matter what is going on around us. Help us to die to ourselves and to serve you always. Help us to have strength to resist temptation. We release everything we have to you Father, use us how you see fit. Help us to be your hands and feet and to live our life to bring you honor. In Jesus name we pray Amen.

Verse:

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. ‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:1‬ ‭ESV‬‬
