Daily Devotion 10-14-23

Our battles are not meant to be fought in the flesh. As children of God we have weapons that are far more powerful and effective than anything we can do in our own strength. When we are facing a battle we need to look to God for strength and the weapons he has given us. When the enemy tries to tempt you or trick you with lies, we have the word of God to tell us the truth. We know what to believe because we know his word. When we are discouraged, struggling, overwhelmed, hurting, afraid, pretty much anytime we need to focus on God we can worship. When we focus our attention on the Father, he will lift our heavy burdens and meet us right where we are. In all times prayer is a powerful tool we need to use. We can pray for guidance, clarity, health, strength, what we are struggling with and so much more. When we pray we are communicating with God, we can bring our battles and problems to him. If we try to fight our battles in our own flesh we will lose. But with God all things are possible, he will have the victory.
Prayer:
Lord, we thank you for your goodness and love. Thank you for fighting our battles. Help us to not have a fleshly mindset. Help us to notice when and where the enemy is moving. Equip us with the tools we need to fight our battles. Help our first response to come from you and our knowledge of you, not our own self. We ask that you give us peace, strength, joy, courage, and boldness, in Jesus name we pray Amen.
Verse:
‭ For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10:3‭-‬4‬ ‭ESV‬‬
